"Tarred and feathered?" "Besmirched?" "Ensuing frenzy?" "Mob lecturing and
condemning?"
I hate to see us over react and make more of this than it is. It's really
okay to discuss responsible letterboxing here in public. By removing all the
identifying info about this box nobody should have been personally affected.
Please don't jump to judgmental conclusions and assumptions that every
discussion is a flame war. I thought all the responses so far were considerate and
well meaning.
You wouldn't believe how much stuff like this land manager complaint goes on
behind the scenes at LbNA, or how much flak the people at letterboxing.org
put up with to ensure that the website for our beloved past time is completely
free and open.
It's okay to talk about these things together as a community. Please don't
take a knee jerk negative attitude and assume we are stirring up trouble. Far
from it, we are working hard to make this work for everyone.
You probably wouldn't want to see what was in our mailbox today from a
certain National Park ranger about a plant in his area of responsibility...but
please remember that when we post to you here, it is from a friend to a friend,
and that there is a smile on the face to go with the note.
